Every employer in the Netherlands has a legal obligation to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. An external confidential advisor can contribute significantly to this. At least, if this advisor acts independently and is sufficiently visible. Ethicall is more than a phone number on an intranet page. A proactive external confidential advisor is regularly physically present, gets to know employees, HR, the works council, and management. By providing both support and information, trust is built. At Ethicall, the external confidential advisor is truly there to support the reporter. This means that a confidential advisor never speaks to multiple parties in one case. Does Ethicall seek the truth? No. An external confidential advisor does not engage in fact-finding: the goal of the external confidential advisor is to make the reporter feel heard and seen without passing judgment. Conversations are always voluntary.
A reporter can count on personal support and good accessibility for conversations, both by phone and in person. The foundation is built on trust: our conversations are always confidential. An external confidential advisor is bound by an ethical code. Even when Ethicall is paid by a third party, nothing from the conversations is shared with that third party without the written consent of the reporter.
Additionally, the external confidential advisor from Ethicall provides personal advice, support, and information to the organization and its employees. We engage in conversations about desired behavior, always from a positive perspective. What is going well, and what would you like to see more of in the organization? What is psychosocial safety, and how can we achieve it together? This is how prevention, education, and enforcement come together to create a safe working environment.
